Elizabeth Burris' Broccoli Salad

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb Broccoli
  • 1/2 Red onion; chopped
  • 1 c Sunflower seeds
  • 1/2 c Raisins
  • 1 c Sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1 c Mayonnaise
  • 2 tb Red wine vinegar
  • 1/4 c Sugar (optional)
  • 1/2 lb Bacon cooked crisp & crumbled

Instructions

    CLEAN AND CUT the whole broccoli into small pieces.

    Use all of the broccoli except the end chunks.

  3. 3

    Mix together the broccoli, onion, sunflower seeds, raisins and mushrooms.

    Make the dressing by mixing the mayonnaise, vinegar and sugar.

  5. 5

    Twenty minutes before serving, toss the salad.

  6. 6

    Toss with the bacon and the dressing.
