  • brown sugar3 tablespoon
  • black pepper1 teaspoon
  • soy sauce2¾ oz
  • sesame oil3 tablespoon
  • canola oil1 tablespoon
  • sesame seeds1 teaspoon
  • cooked rice1 lb
  • Banchan (Korean side dishes)0

Instructions

  1. 1

Slice the beef as thinly as you can, then set aside in a large bowl.

  2. 2

Using frozen or cold beef will make the slicing easier.

  3. 3

In a blender or food processor, blend the onion chunks, garlic, pear, green onion pieces, brown sugar, pepper, soy sauce, and sesame oil until smooth.

  4. 4

Pour the marinade over the beef, add the thinly sliced onion, then mix to coat evenly.

  5. 5

Cover with plastic wrap and marinate in the fridge for at least 30 minutes, or overnight.

  6. 6

Heat the canola oil in a large skillet over high heat.

  7. 7

    Pat the meat dry.

  8. 8

Being careful not to crowd the pan, sear the marinated beef and onions until browned.

  9. 9

Sprinkle with the sliced green onions and sesame seeds.

  10. 10

Serve with rice and side dishes.

  11. 11
